Event Details

The Sandy Spring Museum proudly presents its bi-annual historic homes tour!

Enjoy a rare peak inside a series of privately-owned homes and learn why this small river and valley were such important factors in the pioneering of Sandy Spring.

This year’s tour will highlight Brooke Meadow (1823); Riverton (1848); Fairfield (1856); the Brookeville Woolen Mill and House (c. late 1700s), and Brookville Woolen Mill Workers’ House (early 19th century); and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (1872).   In addition to their historic significance, several of these properties are notable for the care in which they were restored to their original appearance.

The event will also include plein air painters who will be painting on-sight in various media, including water color, oils and acrylic.  Finished paintings will be exhibited at the Museum through mid-November.

Box lunches, which you will pick up at the museum on the morning of the tour, are available and must be ordered in advance.

This self-guided driving tour begins at the Sandy Spring Museum, 17901 Bentley Road, Sandy Spring.
